My life: Unrelenting Pain and Fear
Everyone in chronic pain can relate to the part about "unrelenting Pain", no matter what is causing it. The same thing day in and day out. It doesn't stop for birthdays or any other day for that matter. Some of us are in pain as a result of a fall, a auto accident or some disease like fibrormyalagia. It really doesn't matter, its all pain. Its hard to believe that a country as advanced as the USA Can have 78 million people that live this way but its true. the Suicide rate is 4-5 times higher than other people and lets face it, there is probably not a single one of us that haven't thought of taking our lives at on time or the other. I certainly have.
Every day I read about some new pain drug coming on the market to fight pain. I ask myself why, because you can't find a doctor to prescribe it to you. What is going on in this country right now with the way chronic pain people are treated is a damn disgrace. I have someone that is helping me now but as always its not enough but it does help. He is my primary care physician.
FEAR the other word I talked about is something we all live with. Fear of what you may ask? Fear that if you have not found a pain doctor, that you never will find one. The other side of it is you have looked and looked and finally found someone to help you, but what would you do if something happened to the doctor you now have, or if he told you he didn't want to help you any more. I live in fear of my doctor saying he is going to stop helping me. I have no idea where I would turn. It took me a year of practically begging but then one day I asked my wife if she would go with me. My wife talked to him for quiet a while and that was the key. He agreed to help me. (That is a tip by the way). Another, tip is always go well dressed and have your spouse do the same. My wife always goes with me on every visit.
I still live in fear and dread every time I have to call for a refill. Such is the life of the chronic pain person

I have those same fears. Was in chronic pain for 18 years before I found a pain doctor. But how long will he be willing to help me??
Fear and more fear.

i to am in horrible pain everyday and it gets worse as time goes on..im taling every minute of every day....
I'd also add the fear of your meds stop working. That has happened to me, and I had to try something else.
I'm also scared when I try new treatments, what if they don't work?
Yep, I'm just one big old scary cat!
I think fear is a big component in chronic pain. Fear creats stress and stress increases pain.
How to buy prescription drugs? My doctor prescribed vicodin for a while back, my back hurts, I think it is a great help, but in my country it is difficult to find, it is paramount to have my information on it and found information about findrxonline the medicine, because it provided me.
To control the pain we must attend to the specialist because we can give him what is appropriate and what we need, for example I take hydrocodone, vicodin which is medicine used to counter the chronic pain that I have for years, but I rioja prescribing doctor, I take it in moderation because I read in findrxonline which is a medicine that causes anxiety, and we must control it as it can affect your nervous system, so do not take medicines without consultation because it really can be dangerous.
Chronic pain is very severe and this affects people's life, long known to people who suffered from a strange disease, were strong back pains, which were intense and not let them work, as was what they said were the doctor and he prescribed oxycodone for pain, but knew it was a very powerful medicine, and moreover, anxiolytics, and worry that they were doing things that previously did not like eating too much, smoking, etc, and read in findrxonline that this drug is well and that we must be very careful with their use, and everything must be under medical prescription.

- i agree with this. there is always a number of new pain drugs in the market today, yet it is quite hard for chronic pain sufferers to find a healthcare professional who is willing to help them. sad, but this is the reality chronic pain sufferers have to go through everyday.
The easiest way I think to find a pain doctor is to go to your primary care physician and ask for a referral or recommendation. That's what I did. And it is very convenient if your primary care doctor works very well with your pain specialist.
i found a pain doc at about the time you posted this, and now 2 weeks ago he hasgiven up. its maddening.
I too suffer from pain - unimaginable pain..a pain so bad that i have thought about the benefits of not being here. My family is gone - they don't understand, my friends don't want to see me hurt. I have been labeled as "med seeking" by the very same doctor who missed the broken and torn up shoulder...which wasn't repaired until 4 years after the incident. I suffer from RSD and no one really knows how to diagnosis it so it's all in my head. I rarely tell people, but when they ask what i do? I am ashamed to be getting assistance. My life is so different now. Where will I be in 8 years? Yeah, I too have felt the disgrace in trying to find help. I have several wonderful doctors now - each helping with their own specialty. Fear of losing one - very real, because of us who suffer from "invisible disabilities" are lumped right in with those who suffer from addiction and those who would use the med's we need as income. You are all right, we shouldn't have to cower our way into receiving the help we desperately need and we should be held accountable for using it as directed. I must use 4 pain medications at the same time. My other medications to help with side effects or regulate my general health = 13 scripts a month. The side affect's are terrible. Now the Govt says that Percocet should not be dispensed because of possible liver damage - come check out my med chest (which I keep locked - another tip) l will pray for you all.
Thank you Jerry for your blog! Like you I have (some) interest in politcs and such of how we're treated in main stream society.
All I can focus on is my own reality at times and most times not even that.
I always feel like the most self-absorbed person in the room. My shrink helped me understand that though I'm only interested in myself lol I only have no short-term memory left due to lack of sleep and depression doesn't help with memory, etc.
I've also had enough most days--how to handle it? Geesh I don't know. Glad I'm not the only one--well I've found other endometriosis sufferers but NOW I also find out that I'm in pain for no real reason at all...that's pleasent...and hard to get meds for!
Take care, and thanks for blogging away! I have one too:

Nationwide, prescription pills have become a societal force. Adults and children rely on them for a growing list of afflictions, including anxiety, depression, even shyness, for which few alternatives were available a generation ago. Nearly half of all Americans take at least one prescription drug. Meanwhile, direct-to-consumer drug marketing that touts new and expanded uses has become widespread. Adults and children alike are exposed to print, television and radio ads promising happier, more fulfilled lives. For young people, experts say, all these factors appear to have blurred the line between the benefits and dangers of the medications.
Hello Jerry (please do not post my request),
I am a physical therapist about to release a book about fixing chronic neck pain and headaches. Fixing You: Neck Pain & Headaches is written for laypeople as a self-treatment guide. The information is quite unique and will turn current concepts in neck pain treatment on its head, so to speak. I am inquiring whether you would be interested in reviewing my book for me.
Thank you,

The pains are sometimes reflected as something very badly; this is a warning of some ailment which we pruned to suffer. Sometimes we feel a pain in the waist and one in one of the kidneys which we can worry about. These pains are deceptive and sometimes the importance is not relevant. For this reason it is recommendable to get a physical control to recognize the ailment that causes the pain and power and to fight its origin.
The pain in the waist, that can be acute or long lasting can return as chronic and is know to medics as lumbar pain. This is a disease that strikes millions of people throughout the world; findrxonline and said that according to statistics 70% of people who have suffered at some point in their life.
Pain Relief
Pain is something that everybody has in their body and experience that quite often on different occasions due to so many different reasons like work pressure, mental
stress and illness, marital difficulties and personal problems
i was one of them to experience a pain in my back both lower and upper back which was mainly because of my work and it was so bad that it was affecting my mind
and making me feel so stressful, i tried a lot of medications but none worked for me until i was adviced by one of my colleague to take it this way and it did work for me and it took me so easy and today i am so different than before.
Hydrocodone Bitrate is another product made from Opium and is found in many commercial medications such as Lortab, vicodin, Lorcet and many others. Studies show this medication is much less addictive and has proven to be very effective against chronic depression, anxiety and severe psychological trauma. In the USA Hydrocodone currently is a Class II controlled substance but not available in its pure form. In the USA it is always mixed with substances such as Acetaminophen (Tylenol) which therefore makes it a class III controlled substance for some reason.
This is a really similar idea that I was speaking with my sister about last night, I think its really cool and have found some really quality help. Perhaps this can aid some of you as well. Let me know if this is worth it to anyone else like it was for me. Enjoy!

I am a Podiatric Physician in Scottsdale and I treat many patients who suffer with chronic pain. Over the years I have developed some pretty simple shoegear changes that can decrease overall pain significantly - particularly in the feet, knees, hips and lower back. I've found it amazing that such simple changes can lead to such improvements but I have seen it work time and time again. Please check out my article entitled, "Chronic Pain and Your Feet" (8/15/10) in my blog:

I know I know I must be the xxxnth person to say they found a chronic pain cure...but I started my pain in 1998 and broke free in just 2009 and it's the best feeling. I've written it all down and it took me a year to write down the processes I used
I hate to hear of others suffering I know what it's like and fear is a first cousin of the pain
